Last spring, we spent a few weeks camping in a mountain biking area outside Zion National Park. There’s a nice park along the Virgin River with beach-like sand, smooth rocks, and lots of sun. One day, my daughter and I ventured down to “the beach” for some fun, and there was another family there. Immediately, Aspen and the boy began splashing in the water. I went up to his mom and started talking… which led to deep conversations, some campfires, and an ongoing friendship.
This woman, Margot Ogburn, is profiled in my book Lean Out (Chapter 6), and our conversation is now up on the Lean Out Podcast. In this episode, we discuss Margot’s desire for meaningful relationships and how this has shaped her journey from litigation jobs in San Francisco to owning her own transactional law practice in the small ski town of Bozeman, MT. We also talk about how she figured out where she wanted to settle and build a life, and how she took advantage of transition periods in her life to travel and explore. Along the way, she met her soulmate and started a family.
I hope you enjoy my conversation with Margot. Have a listen below or on your favorite podcast platform.
