What’s your one thing?
You know, that thing that’s always been part of your life. The thing that’s stayed with you through all life’s seasons.
For Claire Johnson, that one thing is travel.
Claire is an OB-GYN physician who started her medical career at a time and place where work-life balance was pretty much non-existent. She worked in a practice that didn’t align with her values for a while, but when it became unsustainable, she left obstetrics.
Then she missed it, so she found a way to retrain. She trained and worked globally in multiple countries, which was fraught with its own type of burnout. Eventually, she left clinical medicine to pursue a remote, consultative role.
We talk all about these ups and downs, twists and turns in this new podcast episode. Most of her travel has now shifted from work to pleasure, as she flies across the country regularly to be with her two adult children (who live on opposite coasts). She continues to travel globally on her own and for her side gigs, videography and drone mapping.
I hope you enjoy this conversation with Claire!
