Have you ever felt the sense that you were meant to be doing something else? Maybe you’re happy where you are, but another passion is calling your name. My guest on the Lean Out Podcast today loved her Ob/Gyn work. She was a partner in a very supportive private practice group. But she fell in love with coaching, which filled her long-held passion for psychology and anthropology and married it with the aspects of patient care she enjoyed.
For Kristi, the hardest thing was stepping away from the expected path, the comfortable environment, to strike out on her own and start a brand new business. My heart was pounding with her as she described the moment she put in her notice; I’ve been there. It’s one of those “hard things” I discuss in Lean Out – the kind you need to train for!
In this episode, we discuss why Kristi pursued a career in medicine despite her longstanding fascination with all things psychology, anthropology, and mindset. We talk about her specific area of coaching, for which she has sought extensive training. We also talk about the constant practice of self-awareness and checking our thoughts during particularly stressful times.
I hope you enjoy the episode, and my takeaways at the end!
