Have you ever felt so overwhelmed, underwater, and burned out that you needed to do a complete reset? I’ve talked on my blog about resets before, but this is a whole other level of reset. My guest on the new episode of the Lean Out Podcast felt just that… so she and her family made a bold move. They sold three fourths of their possessions and moved to the other side of the country.
Jeanne Bramer is an OB-GYN who practices part-time in Louisville, KY. She originally trained and practiced in Lexington, KY, after which she spent 5 years living in Alaska. She’s been married 21 years and has four children ages 15-20.
In this conversation, Jeanne shows us the power of a reset when you’re feeling lost and misaligned with your values. During her geographic transitions to Alaska and then back to Kentucky, Jeanne took some time off clinical practice. Our chat took a surprising turn when she shared how she negotiated a re-entry into procedural OB-GYN work after more than two years off. The way she navigated this challenge is full of great pearls for anyone who wants to lean out but is held back by worrying about their credentials.
