How often do you reinvent yourself?
It doesn’t have to be a huge, sweeping change.
Reinvention can look like taking stock of what you want and making small moves towards being the person you want to be.
My guest on the Lean Out Podcast is Sharon McLaughlin. Sharon is a plastic surgeon turned serial entrepreneur. She Is the creator and CEO of Power of Peacefulness, host of the Power of Peacefulness Podcast, and the founder of the large Facebook group, Female Physician Entrepreneurs. She has authored multiple journals, and a book with other women physicians titled, “Thriving After Burnout.”
When Sharon found herself burned out and overwhelmed as a plastic surgeon, she turned to entrepreneurial pursuits in the aesthetics world. A chance opportunity to do some consulting led to a nonclinical career in insurance, a work role she still holds while she works on her other businesses.
Sharon has turned her attention to the world of physician wellness and helping other female physicians optimize their experiences as entrepreneurs. In this episode, we talk about the importance of a supportive community, the great need to know and take care of ourselves, and the different iterations Sharon has made on her own entrepreneurial journey.
I’m always very inspired by people who experiment a lot, and Sharon is one of those.
What about you? Do you experiment with different ideas and put them out in the world for others to see? Why or why not? Have a listen to our conversation and let me know what you think!
