Prevention is kind of a strange theme for a Lean Out Podcast episode. But my guest has demonstrated the concept of prevention in many ways during her lean out journey.
Her name is Dr. Marjan Bolouri.
Marjan is a mother, a wife and a board certified radiologist specializing in breast imaging in Denver, CO. Outside of work she enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors with her family, and being an advocate for patients and physicians. Marjan transitioned from being a partner/shareholder with leadership roles in her private practice to a part-time contractor for the same group… it was an amicable transition with no drama involved. I think you’ll find her journey inspiring and interesting.
Marjan exercised prevention of burnout by using keen self-awareness to notice and catch her budding burnout symptoms before it was too late. She prevented the burning of bridges within her workplace by continuing to foster relationships and perform her clinical work with the utmost integrity… and now, after leaning out, she also has a fulfilling role of educating patients on cancer and other preventive health issues.
We discuss the avoidance of burnout, the time and place to hustle, and the realization that you’re better at life when you have better balance. Let me know what you think of this conversation by leaving a comment below!
