What if you had the chance to try out different workplaces in your chosen profession? How do you know you wouldn’t love another environment better than the one you’re in now?
My guest on the most recent Lean Out Podcast is Sara Cheng, MD PhD, who is doing just that.
Sara is a board certified anesthesiologist living in Denver, CO. She recently made a shift from private practice to traveling locums. When not working, Sara enjoys a life made rich by family, many creative hobbies, and entrepreneurial pursuits.
Sara has been on a slow journey to work-life balance. She was entrenched on the treadmill of achievement as an academic clinician, transitioned about a decade ago to private practice work, then changed to part-time private practice, and recently made the switch to working solely locums/per diem. She’s a wife, a mom to adult children, an accomplished photographer and an artist.
In this episode, we discuss Sara’s transition, how she serves as a role model for her adult children, and the elements she has found that lead to fulfillment in her work life.
