Whenever you come across an obstacle in your work-life balance path, wouldn’t it be great to be able to view it as an invitation?
- An invitation to change
- An invitation to grow
- An invitation to learn something new
- An invitation to transform
My guest on the Lean Out Podcast views the many tough spots on her entrepreneurial journey as invitations. Dr. Nneka Unachukwu, also known as Dr. Una, began as a pediatrician working for a standard medical practice. Her first invitation was the nudge from a colleague to start her own private practice (two years out of training, pregnant, and with no investors or capital).
Fast forward several years: Dr. Una is now is the founder of EntreMD, a company on a mission to help 100,000 physicians build profitable seven and seven-plus-figure businesses so they have the freedom to live life and practice medicine on their terms.
Dr. Una’s leads the EntreMD Business School, the only school of its kind for physician entrepreneurs. She is a board-certified pediatrician, host of the EntreMD Podcast, and author of Made for More: Physician Entrepreneurs Who Live Life and Practice Medicine on Their Own Terms.
In our conversation, we discuss many factors that often hold physicians and busy professionals back from taking the leap to entrepreneurship. Dr. Una shares the limiting beliefs she held on her journey, all of which she shattered by looking to inspiring entrepreneurs as examples. We also discuss the idea of being deliberate about scheduling your personal and family time (including time to homeschool, which Dr. Una does on top of her businesses).
