What is your worth? What are the components that go into determining your worth?
First of all, you are worthy of love, fulfillment, and balance simply because you’re here.
My guest on the Lean Out Podcast realized she has tremendous worth – to herself, her family, her workplace, and her patients. Dr. Jen Wagner is a board-certified anesthesiologist with specialized fellowship training in obstetric anesthesiology. She recently rearranged her work schedule to devote more time to family and a passion project of patient education. In addition to practicing obstetric anesthesiology, Jen co-hosts the C-Section Experience Podcast and is an obstetric anesthesia education content creator.
After working for several years as a full-time physician with young children at home, a major life event prompted Jen to re-evaluate her work-life balance. She shares the story of what led her to negotiate a change in her work schedule and how she decided to add patient education to her work-life balance.
Jen’s love of patient education topics comes out when we discuss what an obstetric anesthesiologist does and why she’s so passionate about helping patients have a positive C-section experience. She also shares the tools she used to heal from grief and trauma, and in her journey she demonstrates what it means to have true, inner confidence.
