You’ve achieved… but do you feel fulfilled?
Achievement feels good, at first. You get that boost from achieving. Maybe you’re even on the treadmill of achievement.
But over time, it leaves you empty.
My recent guest on the Lean Out Podcast found fulfillment by adding something unconventional to her work: hair restoration.
Dr. Nancy Echefu is a hair transplant physician and hair loss coach based in Peachtree City, Georgia. Since opening Havilah Hair Restoration in 2023, she has helped patients regain their confidence through personalized and innovative hair restoration treatments. She is the only female hair transplant physician in South Georgia recognized by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS).
When Nancy experienced hair loss herself, she became interested in hair restoration. She completed the multi-year process of joining the societies, doing a fellowship, mentoring, and opening her own clinic while still practicing emergency medicine as a locum tenens physician.
Nancy finds fulfillment in all her roles: emergency physician, hair restoration physician, patient advocate, mom, wife, and devoted family member. She loves her blend of fast-paced emergency work mixed with long clinic appointments dedicated to diagnosing and treating hair loss from a holistic approach.
In our conversation, we discussed how Nancy started her own clinic in this unique area of medicine, what she loves about the work she does, how she separates work and family “projects”, and her approach to work-life balance.
Tell me: Do you feel fulfilled? Where in your life does your fulfillment come from? Have a listen to the episode, and share your thoughts by leaving a comment below!
